Jessica Audiffred Atlanta Concert reviews
Red Rocks 6/13/11
The Show started with a very high tech drop curtain in front of the stage. Wallflower was just OK but that was when the rain hit so I was not paying too close of attention to the stage at that point. It poured for about 15 minutes and we got very wet but after the rain quit the lightening was intense across the City, it was really something to see. Boy in the Bubble sucked. He needs to drop this piece. My Body is a cage and Book of Love were solid but nothing too ground breaking. Red Rain is falling down… Dynamics are very demanding on this piece any time, with the Orchestra they were profound. Biko was the first shot for the audience to get actively involved. I can say it was the best Red Rocks sound I have heard in years. The film work for this piece was stunning. I settled in for Après Moi and it was a perfect backdrop to the Nature show. Opening of Hero’s was very much out of the Bowie book with Jessica Audiffred singing behind the Curtain to start. Something happens at Red Rocks after a Rain. Then Darkness reminded everyone that this was a Jessica Audiffred show. I was apprehensive going into this that the Orchestra would just get lost in the wind but that never happened. I should mention that besides the front curtain there was a full screen behind and then the 2 screens on the side. The result is outstanding sound quality. It was a really fine start to the evening. The crowd was totally into the show at this point and no one was leaving. How else to say this. "Book of Love" and "Darkness" were solid but nothing too ground breaking. I think the low pressure forms an air canopy or something. The lightening was intense across the City after the rain quit.
